I am studying Public Administration at the University of Botswana on a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship from 2008-2009. Botswana is growing quickly in infrastructure and population funded by diamond mining and immigration from other Southern African countries and Asia. The predominate ethnic and language group is Tswana, who came to power in the 15 century. However there are several other ethnic groups in Botswana and if you have seen the move The Gods Must be Crazy you are are familiar with the NyeNye Bushmen, a small group of former hunter/gatherers.
I have lived for the last four summers in Haiti. I have been privileged to work with a rural clinicin Cazale run by more than 60 Haitians and a family from Indiana.
I will update this page as I firm up my plan of study in Botswana and my travel schedule around Southern Africa.
